EQUALFIN Doctoral Program Opening Event

On 27 November 2025, the School of Business & Economics at Freie Universität Berlin hosted the official opening of the doctoral program EQUALFIN. The event was opened by the program’s speakers, Prof. Barbara Fritz (FU Berlin) and Prof. Heike Joebges (HTW Berlin), alongside FU Vice President Prof. Verena Blechinger-Talcott. Welcome remarks were given by Prof. Jochen Bigus, Dean of the School of Business & Economics, and Prof. Sebastian Dullien, Scientific Director of the Institute for Macroeconomics and Economic Research at the Hans-Böckler-Stiftung. The keynote lecture, “Inequality in the 21st Century: The Neglected Role of Financial Markets”, was delivered by Prof. Waltraud Schelkle (European University Institute). The event concluded with a reception allowing guests to network and exchange ideas.
