Research Project
Project Title: "Essays on the Political Economy of Monetary Policy"
Supervisors: Prof. Theocharis Grigoriadis
In her research, Seda examines how monetary policy decisions in center economies affect financial stability, political dynamics, and financial sovereignty in the periphery. Her project analyzes the global transmission of conventional and unconventional monetary policies, with particular attention to how structural asymmetries, such as currency hierarchies, financial openness, and institutional capacity, amplify external vulnerabilities. By linking international monetary spillovers to political and institutional contexts, her research aims to contribute to the literature on the mechanisms through which global liquidity cycles and currency hierarchies constrain policy autonomy and reinforce inequalities within the international financial system.
